The youth program at IRC Richmond provides holistic support to school-aged refugee youth to help them meet their educational and career goals.
Youth will gain skills and connect with academic and career opportunities to achieve their long-term success.
Time Commitment:
10-15 hours a week for at least 3 months.
The hours for these positions are flexible; however, will primarily be between 9AM and 5PM on weekdays, with occasional weekend activities
Responsibilities:
Assist with the case management and individualized career and academic advisement services for youth/young adults including documentation, data entry and file maintenance Assist with delivery of career readiness and educational workshopsAssist in planning and running group social and networking events for youth/young adultsHelp identify local learning opportunities for youth/young adults Qualifications Excellent communication and writing skillsOrganizational skills with attention to detailAbility to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environmentAn interest in international and refugee issuesExperience working with youth and/or young adults is preferredCreativity and initiative to follow through on projectsStrong desire to help people and enthusiasm for working in a multi-cultural settingComputer literacy, preferably with PC systemsA valid driver's license and reliable vehicle is beneficial.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
