Registered Nurse (Clinical Coordinator - OR)

The duties of the position include but not limited to:
Sets priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work. Hears and resolves complaints of assigned personnel and refers more serious complaints not resolved to higher supervisors Clinical expert and consultant:
review quality of care, conducts regular rounds, chart review, etc. Leads performance improvement (PI) activities under the direction of the OR Nurse Manger and engages staff in PI. Identifies educational needs of staff and ensures that these needs are addressed. Has integral role in supporting and facilitating student clinical experiences, as well as orienting and supporting new staff. Provides skilled back-up to OR nursing staff Actively develops and manages collaborative partnerships with physicians and other clinicians. Provides management of resources, including staffing and supplies. Manages OR resources (staff) to maximize utilization of staff throughout the service area. Participates on service and medical center committees and task forces to improve nursing practice and patient care. Responsible for managing day patient flow into and out of the unit. Developing and implementing plans/processes for meeting regulatory requirements. Ability to effectively implement change and assist with the management of departmental budget. Must be able to independently make decisions in high-stress situations. Coordinates appropriate and comprehensive care of all patients on assigned unit(s). Provides direct patient care, functioning independently with medications, treatments, procedures, and equipment, demonstrating nursing practice in accordance with Richmond VAMC Medical Facility philosophy, policies, and procedures. Serves as a liaison and communicates effectively with medical staff, patient and family members, ancillary departments, and/or other facilities, Performs other duties as assigned and directed to the satisfaction of the OR Nurse Manager. Monday-Friday, 6:

Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant:
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. (Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6) OR In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Grade Determinations:
The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience. The physical requirements of this position include lifting, prolonged standing and sitting, frequent bending, walking (distance), climbing, reaching (overhead, extensive/repetitive), repetitive motion and stooping. The mental/sensory requirements include recall, reasoning, problem-solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing legibly, keyboarding, reading and logical thinking. The environment's pace can vary from steady to a sometimes-fast pace requiring handling of multiple priorities, frequent, sometimes intense customer interactions, and the ability to adapt to frequent changes in a sometimes noisy environment. There may be the need to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to disease, illness and hazardous materials.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
