Pest Controller

The major duties are:
Utilizes suitable Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Control methods to reduce and control hazards to public health, stored products, structure, and vegetation. Selects, mixes, and applies restricted and general use pesticides to control a wide variety of insects, vertebrate, and plant pests including those not commonly recognized and often hard to find. Locates and identifies pests in stored products. Determines the appropriate pesticides toxicity, chemical solutions, baits, physical characteristics, life cycles, and feeding habits associated with a wide variety of pests; Plans and carries out appropriate pest control measures. Collects and identifies disease carriers such as but not limited to, different types of mosquitoes, roaches, lice, fleas, rodents, wasps, ants, snakes, raccoons, and bats. Work Schedule:

Work assignments require moderate to strenuous effort. You must climb, bend, stoop, crawl and stand on concrete or metal surfaces and work in confined spaced for prolonged periods. You will frequently lift parts and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds and occasionally may lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds with the aid of mechanical lifting devices or assistance from other workers. The work is accomplished both inside and outside in all areas of a structure to include but not limited to under a building, attic spaces, mechanical and electrical rooms. When working outside, you may be exposed to hot sun for extended periods of time and occasionally to bad weather. Inside work is often accomplished in structural areas with minimum ventilation and/or limited access. Some work is accomplished under buildings and within crawl spaces which have wet or dusty conditions with minimum ventilation and/or limited access. You will mix substances and apply pesticides while wearing respirators, gloves and other personal protective equipment designed to nullify the risk of exposure to toxic dust and sprays which might damage your health. Damage to health may occur if appropriate safety procedures are not followed. Discomfort may be experienced while wearing protective clothing, respirators, goggles, or face masks for extended periods of time. You may be exposed to poisonous insects, reptiles and plants and to wild and rapid animals. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
