The Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) will analyze, prescribe, design and develop appropriate criterion learning solutions to employ instructional technologies and modalities including but not limited to instructor led, online or e-learning and blended modalities for local, state and federal clients.
Final product may be in the form of participant guides, instructor guides, job aids, e-learning modules, webinars, technical documentation, simulations, community development, testing and certifications. Ensures training is clearly defined, courses are well designed, quality materials are available for use during and after the training and the appropriate strategies are applied for effective knowledge transfer.
This position is expected to lead the planning, administering, managing and evaluating of training programs. The candidate will work with the EMRTC Training Business Unit ISD to ensure achievement of goals and objectives.
Job Function/Duties:
1. Analyzes
Responsible for assessing current training to see if it is relevant and establishes direction for future training development
Defines training performance objectives
Analyzes and evaluates curriculum options and effectiveness of content
Determines the best style(s) of training for the target audience
2. Designs
Creates or reconciles preliminary plans for all lessons and modules with associated performance objectives and activities including the proposed evaluation for the course.
Ensures alignment exists between the curriculum, testing and national/prescribed standards
3. Tests and Evaluates
Design course materials for both student and instructor
Create behavioral objectives
Develop curriculum for face-to-face learning and format content and graphics using prescribed software
Create and revise instructional visual aid materials that align with course goals and objectives
Create activities to reinforce learning
Conduct testing and rehearsal of developed courses
Develop evaluation plan on course objectives
Perform final detailed edits on curriculum in preparation for final publication
Ensures final curriculum materials are compliant with Section 508 requirements for differently-abled users
