Overview
This position is equally responsible for SQL and Systems administration of various Windows server-based enterprise applications for the NewMarket companies.
Responsibilities
Installation, upgrade, and maintenance of Enterprise applications, including patches, security, monitoring and performance and change management.
Installation, upgrade, and maintenance of MSSQL Server and databases including patches, security, monitoring, and performance and change management.
Maintenance of Windows Virtual Servers, including patches, security, monitoring, event log analysis, hard drive utilization, performance and change management.
Design of individual server and service availability and recovery plans.
Planning for new service implementations and service upgrades
24x7 on call Escalation support for service/server failures
Collaboration with application developers, service providers, data center operations staff and business users to address application issues and problems.
Systems, applications and process management to meet or exceed agreed Service Levels.
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS
Bachelors in Computer Science or Equivalent work experience
Preferred Post graduate work in SQL or Systems8 years of Windows Server, MSSQL and/or networking experience
Preferred this includes 4 years of experience as a full database administratorMCSA or Equivalent certification, training, and/or architecting experience.
Preferred MCDBA certification
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Proficient in administering MSSQL Server and use of SQL scriptingProficient in Microsoft NetworkingProficient in Windows server and client OS administrationUnderstand the impact of specific changes on the production environment and on the overall plan for the enterprise. General knowledge of server virtualization, especially with VMWareGeneral knowledge of Citrix Terminal ServicesEffective diagnostic and trouble shooting skillsEffective oral and written communication skillsAble to perform after hours maintenance and upgrades on critical systems.Able to provide on-call support as neededDemonstrates the ability to assimilate new technical information and apply it effectively Able to cope with multiple work interruptions and to maintain focus on detailsDemonstrates a customer service orientationDemonstrates effective project management skills. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
