NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED : This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. This position is located in the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics (G4), Sustainment Automation Support Management Office (SASMO). The primary purpose of this position is to provide automated logistics Standard Army Management Information System(STAMIS) support to all state activities and organizations and a wide range of specialized methods and techniques for planning, analyzing, and identifying problems; and developing and implementing resolutions in the organization,administrative, and systemic programs.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS : Excepted Service Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (Not to Exceed E9/SGM) and Officers (Not to Exceed O3/CPT)

GROUP II - All qualified Virginia Army and Air National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (Not to Exceed E9/SGM) and Officers (Not to Exceed O3/CPT), regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period.
MILITARY CRITERIA: Applicant must be qualified and eligible for award of an MOS as follows: O:BR: 01A, 88A, 90A, 91A, 92A; MOS: 25B, 36B, 51C, 88M, 88N, 89A, 89B, 92A, 92F, 92Y
MILITARY ASSIGNMENT : Applicant selected for this military technician position must occupy a military assignment in the Virginia Army National Guard that ensures proper grade, unit, and MOS prior to placement.

DUTIES AND
Responsibilities: Serves as an advisor to the Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist on all Combat Service Support (CSS) STAMIS systems and Automated Logistical Programs. as a Systems Administrator for all STAMIS systems and Automated Logistical Programs and as the technical expert within the state/territory responsible for providing technical and functional guidance for serviced STAMIS and Automated Logistical Programs. Troubleshoots diagnostics and resolution of technical problems identified in trouble tickets and initial setup of serviced STAMIS computers to include loading software,configuring modem and network card(s), assigning Internet Protocol (IP)addresses with correct subnet, connectivity to the network as required,coordinating with other support personnel and completing technical inspections. Develops programs to ensure software/interim change packages (SCP/ICP) are applied in proper order. Serves as the primary point of contact for Functional Administrators and users of the serviced database(s). Resolves issues and problems concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of logistical STAMIS administrative and systemic work operations. Provides direction and guidance to supported CSSSTAMIS users in the submission of automated systems problem reports and/or change proposals. Analyzes requirements, establishes programs/procedures ensuring effective coordination on CSS automation hardware systems and peripherals pertaining to the receipt, distribution, installation,and replacement of systems. Directs user-level assistance on STAMIS and Automated Logistical Program operations and automated systems utilization. Serves as the primary point of contact on all CSS automation continuity of operations plan (COOP), development, and execution. Performs quasi-supervisory duties and responsibilities of the office such as planning overall work operations, setting priorities, and establishing objectives for the mission of the office. Represents the DCSLOG/G4 in implementing or improving logistical operations through STAMIS systems and Automated Logistical Programs.
MINIMUM
Qualifications: Experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED
Experience: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training identifying activities involving logistical support operations. Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions. Experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks, and complying with regulations, laws, or practices.
QUALITY OF
Experience: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates'' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant''s record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience - Successful completion of a full 4-year course ofstudy in _ any field_leading to a bachelor''s degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements.
