As an Automation resource, you would work with an Automation Architect and with other test automation engineers to design, develop and maintain automation frameworks for effective and efficient test execution on both Waterfall and Agile methodologies for various types application including Windows, Web, Service Oriented, Mobile etc., You will be responsible to develop new automation scripts and / or modifying existing automation scripts / macros developed using various testing tools including (not limited to) Selenium, QTP, Selenium, VBScript, Excel, and other in-house Automation Frameworks. Work as a technical / business consultant with clients, analysts, programmers and team members to solve complex business problem.
Responsibilities: - Provide technical direction by setting priorities and providing a vision for the automation team - Lead a team of Automation engineers and help creating test automation solutions for Capital One QS - Train and mentor other departmental resources on proper selection, design and implementation of various Test Automation Frameworks, Tools and Strategies - Works collaboratively with cross functional teams to understand project objectives, gather automation requirements, design automated tests, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable test automation solutions - Develop test strategies and effective test automation solutions for upcoming projects - Communicate status to key stakeholders and senior management - Coordinates and facilitates test automation planning, design and execution sessions - Identify areas for improved testing efficiencies, test automation and implementation of automated test solution will fall within your scope. Significant interaction with internal customers across the organization will be take place - Create and implement Test automation Strategies for projects executed in Agile and Waterfall model - Work closely with Application developers, business team and testing team to identify automation requirements in early stage - Design and implement automation framework / strategies for web, mobile, windows and terminal emulators based applications - Help extending test coverage along with creating appropriate tools, utilities, and automation scripts that assist in functional testing and to create test data (e.g. creation of excel macros, developing small utilities etc.,) - Design and Develop test automation artifacts (scripts, functions, scenarios, processes) for simple to complex automated testing situations using various tools (e.g., Selenium / ALM). Collects, organizes, and analyzes statistical information from a variety of sources to support high-quality test design - Designs, executes, monitors, and troubleshoots HP QTP automated tests in a variety of situations and conditions - Analyzes statistical results for baselines, trends, and anomalies to facilitate problem solving, application improvements, and reporting. Contributes ideas and recommends action based on that analysis - Manages automated testing artifacts to ensure proper reuse, versioning, backups, organization and retention - Constantly evaluates test automation strategy and approach to identify areas of improvement (i.e. test automation frameworks, dynamic data collection methodologies, coding standards, components and object repository methods, etc.) - Establish and maintain physical , virtual and test automation Labs for effective automation execution - Practice automation development efficiency, maintainability and reusability - Design and implement an automated regression test infrastructure that will support comprehensive testing - Conduct R & D to evaluate open source tools - Use latest technologies, tools, and techniques to develop automation and test management frameworks / tools - Troubleshoot for any problems during automation execution / UAT - Supporting the Testing Team with developing some useful macros using Excel - Understand software quality best practices, test strategy and planning, test case development, test case deployment and execution, test data, defect tracking, and test automation; actively participates in process improvements. - Preparation of User guide manuals any process related documents.

- Bachelors Degree or Military experience -At least 2 years experience in an Agile development life cycle (SCRUM, KANBAN) -At least 2 years experience with Automation script development skills (VBScript, JavaScript, -QC API, TE API) -At least 2 years experience with automating distributed systems, web technologies, web services, database systems, Windows tools and utilities and, Mainframe -At lease 2 years experience with test automation tools(QTP, Selenium, HPST), frameworks, design approaches, and effective implementation techniques -At lease 2 years experience programming languages like Java or C/C -At least 2 years experience in Cucumber, Selenium, Rspec, Ruby, Watir Preferred
Qualifications: -Knowledge of Ajax/DOM is desirable -Good understanding of software design and data structure/algorithms -Experience writing front end test harnesses. -Experience with Selenium frameworks and Calaba.sh or Appium preferred. -Experience in mobile testing and automation (UIAutomation, Robotium etc.) preferred. -Excellent analytical, problem-solving, multi-tasking, troubleshooting and decision-making skills. -Must be self-directed, detail-oriented and have excellent written & verbal communication skills. -Working knowledge of test methodologies processes and tools. Experience with SQL and UNIX (Linux preferred).
