POSITION SUMMARY
The Process Improvement Analyst will perform audits on patient accounts and quality control reports. The PIA will develop, monitor and trend data regarding billing errors, Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire, coding, system interfaces and other quality improvement items to help determine Bon Secours Richmond areas of opportunity and focus for denial prevention and audits. This includes extensive work on Unbilled Accounts, correcting and facilitating these claims to bill out in a timely manner. Participates as a Patient Access team member by performing additional assignments not directly related to the job description when the workload requires and/or requested by leadership. If located in a facility, proper attire to include uniforms is required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Work requires the ability to read, write, follow oral and written instructions, perform mathematical calculations
accurately and communicate effectively at a level acquired through completion of a high school education.
Some college is preferred.
2. Requires an overall knowledge of all of Patient Access functions.
3. Ability to work independently, strong problem solving and critical thinking skills and conflict resolution is
required.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office products; with a preferred strong background in Excel and Power Point.
5. Strong billing and coding background preferred.
6. Above average proficiency in SMS, , ConnectCare, and Xactimed preferred.
7. Efficient typing skills of at least 45 wpm.
8. Three years of Patient Access experience is required.
9. Extensive knowledge of medical insurance.
10. Must be able to work under considerable stress using tact and diplomacy.
11. Must be able to meet strict deadlines.
12. Knowledge of Medicare products, billing and coding guidelines is preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
