General Public - G Job Duties The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Office of Human Resources, has an exciting part-time opportunity for an experienced, customer focused human resources professional eager to provide services in a high-volume, fast-paced HR office for an agency of 600
salaried employees.
This position will be responsible for a portion of the recruiting and selection responsibilities for the agency.
Duties include but are not limited to, assisting with request to fill documents; posting jobs; screening applicants; preparing interview documents and providing guidance; reviewing hiring packets for finalists; completing required verifications such as driving records, degree verifications, etc.
; and ensuring all policies and procedures related to recruitment, selection, classification, and compensation are being followed and within the Commonwealth's time-to-fill goal.
This position will also assist with the preparation/revision of Employee Work Profiles (EWPs) and Physical Demand Worksheets (PDWs) as requested during the recruitment process; conducting salary reviews for hiring ranges and analyses for finalists; and coordinating temporary staffing needs.
This is an hourly position limited to 1500 hours per year beginning each May and does not include state benefits.
The position will work an average of 29 hours per week; however, those hours may increase or decrease depending on department needs so the selected applicant must have the ability to work flexible hours.
Minimum Qualifications Technical knowledge of human resource management principles and practices and related federal and state laws; considerable experience in recruiting, selection and classification and compensation; excellent communication and internal consulting skills; skilled communicator, both orally and in writing with a diverse group of individuals; ability to analyze information and personnel situations, make logical administrative and procedural decisions and effective resolutions, work with sensitive and confidential information, manage competing priorities within tight deadlines; and strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated proficiency using computers, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other software (recruitment management/applicant tracking systems, HR information systems, etc.
).

Diploma or equivalent required.
Additional Considerations A combination of related education, training and experience indicating possession of the preceding knowledge, skills, and abilities to include knowledge of human resources management, business administration, public administration, or related field.
Proven experience in human resources, recruiting, selection, classification, and compensation, preferably in state or local government.
Basic working knowledge of state software systems such as Cardinal/PeopleSoft, PageUp, etc.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
