Maintains a sanitary kitchen and cafeteria.
Serve as a positive role model through words, behaviors, attitudes, and all social interactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Proven knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage.
Ensures that safe and high-quality food service is provided.
Prepares breakfast, lunch, and snack meals for children Monday through Friday.
Prepares, follows menu, and serves meals at designated breakfast and lunch times.
Maintains standards set forth by the Department of Health.
Complies with state and federal sanitation standards.
Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils daily.
Removes garbage from kitchen area daily.
Completes reports and logs.
Monitors food inventory.
Purchases and properly stores food in designated areas by adhering to food safety policies and procedures.
Serves food according to established guidelines.
Maintains cheerful outlook towards staff, visitors, and students.
Must be dependable, trustworthy, pay attention to detail, and take pride in work.
Must be able to work with limited supervision.
Requires lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs.
Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications At least one year experience in food preparation for a school or daycare required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Minimum of 1-year previous experience in food preparation Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, menus, and recipes.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS ServSafe Certification (or willingness to acquire) Certification in First Aid and CPR (we will train).
