Summary:
The Digital Resources Associate works to manage, organize and process digital records and digitized content for law school digital collections, special collections, and law school archives.
The position assists with digitization projects and management of born-digital files that document and preserve institutional and intellectual history of the law school.
This position handles special projects, processes and organizes materials for Law Library special collections, and assists to locate, format and upload materials into the Law School's institutional repository and other digital collections.
Responsibilities:
Digital Resource Management Implement an established data management plan to maintain and grow the law library's digital collections, in coordination with librarians, and technical staff.
Coordinate with Digital Resources Librarian to maintain structured records systems designed for high accessibility of a digitized collection of Virginia Records and Briefs and other digital collections.
Upload and manage digitized records and collections, using a digital asset management system, supported by departmental standards and practices.
Electronic Records Processing Import bibliographic records for electronic resources into the library catalog, auditing the content and adjusting sources for accessible and productive uses.
Remove outdated and changed bibliographic records from local catalog and OCLC, at the direction of the Digital Resources Librarian.
Institutional Repository Management Locate, format and upload faculty and student scholarship, including books, journal articles and other published works, to the UR Scholarship Repository and related access and distribution platforms.
Assist with development of other collections for the institutional repository, locating, scanning, and uploading materials from archives and special collections, and creating workflows for scanning and metadata creation.
Maintain statistics and monthly reports, to support repository promotion and marketing, as well as data-based decisions.
Special Collections and Archives Process intake of archival materials to existing collections.
Catalog new materials for special collections.
Qualifications:
Required:
Familiarity with Windows operating system; ability to use all features of Microsoft Word, including creating tables, footnotes, endnotes and editing capabilities; close attention to detail and accuracy in word processing; ability to create and manipulate Excel spreadsheets and manage data; proofreading skills and accuracy.
Preferred:
Interest in digital asset management, museums, archives, and special collections.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
