General Public - G Job Duties The Virginia Department of Transportation's (VDOT) is excited to offer and announce a competitive opportunity to serve as a part-time Program Analyst in our Central Office Traffic Operations Division.
The selected candidate will provide planning and support for Traffic Operations Division programs and events.
Serve as a direct contact to access Traffic Operations Division resources.
Update external and internal documents including but not limited to IIMs, SharePoint/DOTi (intraweb) sites, manuals.
Oversee records management activities for the Traffic Operations Division.
Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Planning and logistical support of Traffic Operations Division programs.
Planning of internal meetings, conferences and events.
Updates and posting of TOD technical documents, IIM, Standard Operations Procedures, etc.
Updates to external and internal facing TOD tools (VDOT web, SharePoint, etc.
).
Coordinate records and retention activities.
Compiling and reporting information.
This position is an Hourly/Wage position.
Hourly(wage) positions may not work more than an average of 29 hours per week and cannot exceed 1500 hours during the wage employment year (May1-April 30.
This position does not include health insurance, retirement or leave benefits.
Minimum Qualifications Demonstrated skills working in a business environment.
Knowledge working with Microsoft Office products.
Skills developing and maintaining information on web sites.
Knowledge of records management.
Skills and ability in planning large events.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with teams and upper-level management.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential materials.
Additional Considerations Experience in business administration, planning, management, and communications.
Experience with SharePoint.
Experience working in a transportation field.
Experience with technical writing.

VDOT is an emergency operation agency.
Positions physically working within Central Office locations may be designated upon request and coordination among the respective District Engineer or Administrator and Chief.
Assignments are updated annually.
Not all designated employees are provided an emergency operations assignment.
Once onboarded, this position may be eligible for telework opportunities; availability, hours, and duration of telework shall be approved as outlined in the Commonwealth telework policy.
