) Recruiting for 8 positions - various locations The job of Community School Resource Coordinator is done for the purpose/s of engaging school and community stakeholders, aligning community school resources to the needs of families and youth, and ensuring that these efforts are cohesive, collaborative, and comprehensive.
The resource coordinator builds relationships for shared leadership and ownership in the community school, facilitates collaborative planning processes, supports implementation of programs/services/initiatives around identified goals, creates procedures for information and resource-sharing, and manages communications regarding the community school.
This job reports to the Family and Community Engagement Specialist.
Essential Duties Acts as a liaison between community partners and school administration to secure appropriate space, resources, and recruitment of families and students within the school building for the purpose of implementing community school programs.
Attends school-based meetings including all-staff, grade level, committees, school climate as determined appropriate by school administration for the purpose of collaborating.
Conducts a needs assessment including the school staff and advisory board to identify opportunities to leverage community resources to support students and families for the purpose of ensuring alignment of programs and services, as well as create opportunities to identify and respond to emerging needs.
Creates and develops a Community School Impact Team (e.
g.
parents, teachers, students, school administrators, local business leaders, and community members, etc.
) for the purpose of collaborating, assessing needs and mapping the assets of the school community.
Creates a system to collect and monitor data for the purpose of evaluating the effectiveness of partnerships and programs.
Creates and convenes a Community School Advisory Board (e.
g.
parents, teachers, students, school administrators, local business leaders, and community members, etc.
) for the purpose of identifying needs, guidance and collaboration in community school strategies.
Collaborates with Research, Data & Accountability Department to collect and monitor data (e.
g.
maintaining documentation of participant enrollment, attendance and participant consents as needed, etc.
) for the purpose of assuring quality in partnerships and programs offered within the community school.
Develops MOUs with community partners to outline the scope of work and responsibilities for each partner for the purpose of following district protocols for contracts, background checks, and invoices ensuring that MOUs are in compliance.
Engages parents/guardians as full partners in their school and the community at large using a community organizing framework for the purpose of conducting outreach, working alongside parent leaders to facilitate leadership training for other parents, supporting parent teams to accomplish goals of the school community, and recruiting parent leaders for the Community School Action Team.
Engages and collaborates with HCPS colleagues from various departments for the purpose of integrating work, sharing information, and building a culture of unity and belonging.
Identifies community resources and leverages partnerships for the purpose of bringing needed programs and services into the Community School.
Monitors three community schools across HCPS including monitoring the budget for the purpose of maintaining a high level of service to students and families.
Nurtures supportive and collaborative relationships with Community School stakeholders for the purpose of identifying and meeting common goals.
Partners with and serves student populations in greatest need (e.
g.
students in need of additional academic support, etc.
) for the purpose of assisting families with barriers to accessing community support and resources.
Represents the District's community school initiative at community meetings including board meetings, and various community events for the purpose of collaborating.
Serves as on-site support during implementation of community school programs and services, including communication, preparation, and logistics for the purpose of collaborating with the school partners.
Supports efforts to engage school district and community leaders as stakeholders in the development of a scaled-up system of Community Schools (e.
g.
written and verbal reports to school board and other stakeholder groups, representing Community Schools at various meetings and committees, and other opportunities, etc.
) for the purpose of assisting in building broad external support for Community Schools.
Works with the Family and Community Engagement Division to align community school strategies with the District's strategic statement and initiatives for the purpose of ensuring that partnerships have an equity focus in service delivery.
W orks closely with the Community School Action Team, school leadership, and Chief of Family and Community Engagement for the purpose of planning and implementing programs and services that are appropriately aligned to the goals for the Community School.
Examples include Adult ESL classes, School-based Health Clinic, Parent Caf s, Teacher Community Immersion Institute.
Works with school staff, students, parents, and community stakeholders such as local businesses, nonprofit partners, and public agencies to build knowledge about, connections with, and support for HCPS's community school model for the purpose of effectively implementing the community school program.
Minimum Qualifications This role requires a significant amount of scheduling of activities, meetings, and/or events; often gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use job-related equipment.

Experience:
Job related experience is desired.
Education:
Bachelor's degree and at least 5-7 years of significant job-related work experience Equivalency:
Master's in education, social work, behavioral science, or other equivalent is preferred.
Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational or family-centered work setting.
Experience in Community Schools is especially desirable.
Demonstrated success innovating, implementing, improving, and evaluating youth and family programs.
Strong organizational and time management skills for balancing competing priorities.
Passion for community development and parent empowerment, with an asset-based approach.
Familiarity with community organizing practices as means to engage diverse stakeholders.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with people from diverse life experiences.
Demonstrated ability to organize and motivate various stakeholders toward common goals.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool.
Comfort with balancing decisions driven by data, lived experience, as well as best practices.
Demonstrated commitment to examining and confronting biases in self and others.
