Associate Athletic Director for Development


Summary:
The primary purpose of the Associate AD for Development position is to plan, coordinate, and implement the annual development operation within VCU Athletics.
Reporting directly to the Sr.
Associate AD for Development, the Associate AD for Development will increase and secure donor participation in support of the department's overall mission and strategic goals.
The incumbent will also directly supervise two - three full-time development staff.
Typical Duties In partnership with the Sr.
Associate AD for Development, create and oversee a comprehensive, annual fundraising plan that supports the annual operation and incorporates strategies of donor cultivation, stewardship, solicitation and acquisition; Attend and actively participate in as many of the Campus, DAR and VCU Foundation staff meetings as possible so as to remain familiar with the private giving activities and plans across the campus and the entire University; Responsible for working with the Athletic Director and the Sr.
Associate AD for Development in setting specific annual fund-raising dollar and participation goals for each fiscal year, as well as sports specific, regional, and other specific fund goals; Manage a portfolio of donors numbering 50 - 60; Regional assignments; Sport-giving assignments; Direct interaction with donor base and season ticket holders; and Comply with University, DAR, State, A-10 and NCAA regulations regarding development programs and cash management.
Oversee two - three development professionals; Ensure that all stipulations of the job description for a team leader or team member are followed when this position or any Athletics development officer is assigned as a team leader or team member on a prospect; Ensure all external area staff comply with University, DAR, State, A-10 and NCAA regulations regarding development programs and cash management; Utilize email protected performance management system for mid-year and annual performance review process; and Ensure proper fiscal management of the development budget.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in communications, sports management, business, marketing, management, or a related field or training and experience that equate to a Bachelor's degree; Minimum of five years of progressive fund-raising/development experience with a proven record of success in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding annual operating gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations; Experience successfully managing staff and volunteers; Demonstrated ability to work successfully with internal and external constituencies including a proven track record of strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills; Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written/electronic communication skills required; Ability to work autonomously and establish priorities; and Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in intercollegiate athletics at the NCAA Division I level; Experience with Fund Development software system; An advanced degree or training and work experience at a level that equates to an advanced degree.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
