A full time position (40hrs wk.
) The job duties are monitoring, inspection and oversight of the districts interstate maintenance contracts.
This will primarily be a field position with some office time for reporting and collaboration of work-plans.
Other interstate maintenance duties may be assigned as required by Virginia Department of Transportation mandates.
The district runs a de-bundled program, there are 3 primary contracts providing the services the position will oversee.
oFAMS - Flexible Asset Maintenance Services:
Provides majority of routine interstate maintenance services.
oBAMS - Basic Asset Maintenance Services:
Provides Hired Equipment w/Operator to facilitate asset repair and improvement work.
oOverhead & Cantilever Signs:
As-needed repair & maintenance on Lg.
sign structures.
Required Experience and
Qualifications:
The candidate should have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of interstate or limited access roadway maintenance experience.
A broad spectrum of maintenance experience is preferred; Guardrail repair and inspection, Asphalt patching, Sign repair & replacement, Fence repair, Drainage work - pipe & culvert clean out, ditching, slope stabilization.
3 to 5 years of experience is preferred.
Certifications:
VDOT Contract Monitors training.
(Not required prior to assignment) Intermediate Traffic ControlGRIT - Guardrail Installers Training - Inspectors version.
Erosion & Sediment Control - DEQ level Inspectors cert.
