Business Development, Special Hazards - In this capacity, you will be responsible for working with architects, builders, engineering firms, and contractors throughout the NE and the North central part of the U.
S.
, from Maine down to Virginia and over to Illinois up to Wisconsin, to spec and sell Viking Special Hazard systems (Suppression systems, Foam, and some detection).
The territory could change at the discretion of your manager and market conditions.
This position is remote, and candidates can reside in the NE and North central parts of the U.
S.
Responsibilities:
Provides awareness of the Viking product line in all facets of industry.
Establishes and maintains a professional business relationship with key contacts.
Participates actively in various industry trade associations and provides a presence during conferences and trade shows.
Day-in and day-out activities would include making appointments with consulting engineers, insurance underwriters, and authorities having jurisdictions.
Weekly recording of activities is required in an electronic data collection system.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED:
Knowledge of specialized business processes such as elementary accounting procedures, operation of equipment such as bookkeeping and billing machines, basic computer operations and normal office procedures.
(High school plus additional specialized courses or experience)Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Demonstrated competency in a fire protection discipline, which could include, but not limited to:
Alarm and Detection, Clean Agent Systems, Special Hazard Systems (Foam), Sprinkler Systems.
Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
On the road travel expectation is approximately 50% plus.
Strong computer skills including basic Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
