All persons and property entering through these locations will be screened via metal detection and via scripted questions.
VCU Health has partnered with RMC Events, Inc.
to provide this entry screening.
The primary purpose of these screening is to keep prohibited items from entering the facility.
Essential Position Functions & Key Duties Serve as additional eyes and ears to the VCU Police Departments and/or the VCU Health Security team.
Operate Ceia OpenGate Systems, Ceia walkthrough metal detectors, Ceia handheld metal detectors, and Garrett THD pin-point metal detectors.
Required to provide timely notifications to our Command Post on situations relative to hazards, suspicious persons/activity and medical/other emergencies.
Maintain daily Occurrence Logs and Incident specific reports to account for services they provide.
Approachable, proactive, and aware of persons who appear lost or looking for assistance and provide proactive assistance to those individuals.
Deterrent to crime by being highly visible and extremely proactive in engaging with diverse populations Skills & Physical Requirements Ability to interact cordially and communicate with a diverse community.
Ability to operate a portable radio and provide clear transmissions in English.
Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
Must be able to accurately follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & Post Orders.
Must have reliable transportation and always be punctual for assigned shifts.
Capable of standing for long periods of time and lifting items weighing up to 20 pounds, as needed.
Repetitive movements are required.
Ability to stand, walk, climb, and descend stairs, bend, squat, push and pull on a frequent basis.
Work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions as well as occasionally outdoors in weather conditions with varying temperatures Ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
Ability to see and respond to dangerous/urgent situations, report important visual details to management/police/first responders Must be able to work in all-weather environments Other Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to obtain a VA DCJS 01-E Unarmed Security License.
Company provided training if applicable.

citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the U.

Must submit to an extensive background check including criminal history (VA State Police & FBI fingerprints), personal & professional references, & employment and education verifications.
Must be able to work a permanent schedule with abundant overtime opportunities.
