5 Full-time 18 hours ago Full Job Description The City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities is seeking qualified candidate to fill the Business Systems Analyst position in the Water Distribution division.
This role will be instrumental in supporting operations staff by managing & implementing hardware, software & operating system interfaces such as Service Suite, City Works & Cradle Point to improve workflow.
Additionally, the selected candidate will be responsible for testing updates for databases and software; troubleshooting software and device issues; and provide strategic solutions for workflow programs and processes.
Duties include but are not limited to Maintaining, managing and updating databases and systems; Analyzing data, make recommendations and create reports from databases or systems; Performing other day-to-day operations such as testing applications, training staff on hardware and software applications, working with various databases and etc.
Managing or oversee assigned projects such s project feasibility, timelines, scope, process efficiency, resources, and etc.
Developing, implementing and monitoring processes as needed.
Training, supervising and providing support as needed.
Qualifications, Special Certifications and Licenses KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Considerable knowledge of area of focus such as financial reporting, fixed assets, payroll, information technology database, revenue reporting, etc.
Knowledge of hardware including basic computer setup; and common computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Electronic databases and related software applications used in area of focus such as Oracle, MUNIS, RAPIDS financial software system, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
Multiple reporting platforms such as revenue and financial reporting modules.
Knowledgeable in process improvement; and project management.
Knowledge of software testing methodologies; standard office technology and equipment (e.
g.
computer, printer); and telecommunication skills such as configurations, design, etc.
Demonstrated skills analyzing and interpreting data in area of focus to identify current processes and look for deficiencies; assisting customers and end-users as needed; creating reports; evaluating the processes and workflow within area of focus; maintaining systems or databases such as Oracle, MUNIS, etc.
; managing assigned projects in area of focus such as through project feasibility, timelines, scope, process efficiency, resources, etc.
Skilled in preparing reports for people in of area interest; testing updates for databases and software within area of focus; training others in area of focus when necessary; customer service; written and oral communication.
Demonstrated abilities to problem solve, prioritize workload for self and others; use discretion to make decisions related to projects such as standard operating procedures and implementing processes; and work to correct or improve inefficient processes within area of focus.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND
Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in information technology Accounting, Business or related field; One year of business systems analysis experience; or An equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the department) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications of the classification.
LICENSING, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
None required PREFERRED TRAINING AND
Experience:
Five (5) years of business systems analysis experience; Bachelor's degree in Information Technology.
