General Statement of Duties Professional Learning and Leadership coordinators facilitate and support training opportunities for all personnel.
Coordinators work collaboratively with professional learning specialists to identify, design, and deliver training opportunities that provide district staff with the knowledge and resources essential to student achievement.
In addition, PLL coordinators work closely with first-year teachers, provisionally licensed teachers, and mentor coordinators.
Essential Duties General Description:
Assists with the design, development, and support of professional learning opportunities to maximize student achievement and professional growth opportunities for all employees.
Designs and coordinates district-wide professional learning in alignment with the strategic goals of Destination 2025 Understands and applies the principles of adult learning to the design and delivery of professional learning Designs and provides job embedded and personalized professional learning opportunities.
through multiple delivery models including in-person, remote, and blended sessions Provides support to mentor coordinators at the school level Provides support to provisionally licensed educators in the HCPS Teacher Licensure Cohort Provides CHAMPS support for proactive classroom management through student engagement Supports New Teacher Academy and the HCPS Teacher Mentoring Program Assists with the research, design, and analysis of training resources to include professional learning activities, microcredentials, and specializations Organizes and supports professional learning communities Supports targeted training sessions for both instruction and non-instruction departments Projects a passion for learning and remaining current in instructional strategies; adult learning theory and professional development practices; planning and project management; and collaboration, coordination, and facilitation of work groups Works well in a team environment Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications A valid Virginia teaching license Minimum of five years of teaching experience.
Knowledge of research-based instructional practices, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills, technology skills, and organizational skills Experience working with adult learners is preferred Evidence of leading professional learning is preferred Additional Information Deadline - Open until filled Anticipated Start Date - July 1, 2023 Minimum annualized salary - $64,267( The salary for this position will be prorated based upon the official start date).
