We are currently seeking highly qualified undergraduate interns to join our Finance department in Richmond, VA.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Our 10-12 week summer intern program provides students the opportunity to participate in on-the-job training, access to mentors, planned social events, and educational opportunities. Students will also be given the opportunity to work on a project as part of their intern experience. Depending on the current business need, this project may be cross functional. All students are expected to use project management skills to execute multiple project tasks simultaneously. Students will document project work in a formal report and/or presentation to Senior Management at the conclusion of the term.
As a Finance/Accounting undergraduate summer intern with Altria Client Services, the student will be assigned to a specific area within our Finance department for purposes of learning, assessment and ultimate contribution.
Finance areas include:
Controller Functions - Includes accounting, financial reporting & disbursements
Decision Support & Budgeting - Provides financial analysis to drive business decisions
Treasury - Provides cash and risk management strategies
Corporate Tax - Provides tax strategies and services
Investor Relations - Communicates with the investment community
Corporate Audit - Assesses and reports on the control environment
Projects may include:
Performing basic functional business case analysis and identifying potential solutions
Identifying business changes and executing related accounting process changes as necessary
Compiling, analyzing and recording financial information
Consolidating data from multiple sources/computer systems
Analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and creating solutions
Preparing variance analyses on monthly expenditures
Performing monthly closing procedures
Assessing financial controlsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
