The Supervision, Regulation and Credit Department, (SRC) Operations & Staff Development (OSD) Unit, of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is looking an SRC IT Technical Specialist I/II. The position will be located in Richmond, VA.
The SRC IT Technical Specialist I performs complex analytical, technical, and administrative work in the planning, design, and development of new and existing computer applications. The SRC IT Technical Specialist II serves as a project leader and formulates solutions to complex business problems as they relate to the SRC technical environment. Either position uses technology to provide management and Board of Governors (BOG) with improved financial information and reports related to supervision and regulation of banks; provides lead technical assistance to department staff; works on complex computer applications; provides field staff with technology solutions to improve their productivity; and possesses and applies a broad knowledge of business principles, practices and procedures to all technical areas of responsibility.
Specific Job Responsibilities (includes but are not limited to the following):
Modifies computer programs and databases according to management information needs. Implements changes as new needs are identified or as source data changes.
Consults with users to determine requirements by developing detailed user and functional requirements for systems; develops or modifies computer programs to provide data and reports; tests systems, maintains documentation, and develops user, operations, and implementation training guides, and test packets; coordinates implementation of IT solutions with Central IT and National IT staff.
Prepares and maintains documentation of computer programs and data sets.
Conducts reviews of existing systems and equipment for effectiveness and efficiency; prepares written recommendations for any required changes; ensures report requirements and technical documentation are consistent and accurate.
Provides lead technical assistance and training to field and office staff on use of computers and other technical devices in the department such as printers, handheld devices, and networking equipment.
Analyzes and recommends acquisition of software for specific department needs. Maintains software.
Administers department data security as required.
Assists users in accessing information in Federal Reserve and Board of Governors databases.
Actively involved in the accomplishment of departmental and/or FRS IT initiatives by being a coordinator, team leader or team member.
Provides support for departmental IT support desk.
Ensures adherence to IT principles & standards; FISMA; BISP; SAFR; and all other FRS/Bank/departmental information security policies and procedures.
Fulfills job duties and responsibilities in conformance with sound safety practices.
The selected candidate will be subject to special background check procedures, and may be offered a position either as an SRC IT Technical Specialist I or SRC IT Technical Specialist II, depending on candidate's knowledge, skills, and experiences as defined in the job qualifications/experience. Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual's knowledge, skills and experience as defined in the job qualifications/experience. Hiring Range SRC IT Technical Specialist I: $65,232 -$81,540, annually.
Hiring Range SRC IT Technical Specialist II: $83,074- $103,842, annually.
Qualifications/
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a computer or engineering related field is preferred.
Proficiency and knowledge of computer software, hardware and Web technologies is essential (such as .NET, MVC, SharePoint, HTML and Java Script etc.).
Working knowledge of computer networks and databases is also preferred (such as SQL Server, etc.).
