Release Manager Advisor or Release Manager Advisor Senior
Responsible for applying release, implementation and change management methodologies/procedures to ensure the goals and objections of each release are adequately staffed for successful implementation and accepted on time through following established release planning processes. Works with IT and Business management to ensure a release schedule is defined and communicated to meet business/Enterprise needs including dependent systems.
Primary duties in addition to release management team member responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Leads or acts as SME in the release management team and all planning meetings for multiples platforms and project releases. Establishes policies, procedures and best practices governing troubleshooting efforts.
Provides direction for developing project release plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources for large scale program releases which include maintenance releases and special dedicated project releases
May lead, approves and communicates backout strategies to IT and business leadership; and directs and coordinates the activities of Enterprise releases.
Leading/mentoring and training release management staff; working with the team to deliver services that efficiently and effectively.
Provides guidance to the maintenance release team and support staff and reviews release and project deliverable schedule, milestones, and required tasks and makes changes and additions as required for Enterprise level programs.
May provide strategic planning analysis concerning staffing needs on a short, medium and long term basis, based on large scale program releases which include maintenance releases and special dedicated project releases.
Conduit for channeling strategic analysis and insight to and from release management teams planning and methodology at local, regional, National and Enterprise level.
Meets with other IT and Business programs to align release schedules and timeline to minimize outages and/or production risks to ensure successful implementation of all release components to meet the company commitments.
Job Qualifications
Requires 5
years IT experience, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or knowledge of and proficiency in project management methodologies and the ability to manage multiple releases in a time sensitive environment; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. BS/BA, multiple trade certifications or other continued education and 3
years project management in a leadership role preferred. Innovative and strategic thinking, attention to detail and organizational skills are required. Ability to manage multiple releases in a time sensitive environment required. Strong experience in software release engineering, and configuration management required. Minimum 5
years of experience performing functions of build/release/configuration engineer. Strong knowledge of software configuration management systems and/or source code version control systems. Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and knowledge of configuration management industry standards and best practices. Proven ability to rapidly learn new software and maintain competency with developing technologies.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
